As the weather is warming up and the Nature clubbers are all busy harvesting and cooking our produce, I decided to fill up the pond and weed all around it and our fruit trees. I was thrilled to spot a lot of pond snails, boatmen and pondskaters, as was Bobby the Robin who was perched nearby. I was especially pleased to show the children the tiny apples and plums on our trees which will turn 2 in October. When they planted them they had only just started Year 3 and I did warn them that they might have left Foxton before they bore fruit. At this rate, they should be able to cook with them in the autumn. All the blackcurrants, herbs, onion and garlic are also growing well.
