Since we have missed the last few Thursdays, it was good to finally get together and celebrate the last session. The pond has been filled up for the summer and we enjoyed the fruits of last year in the form of blackcurrant tarts and this year in the form of elderflower cordial. We also held a nature quiz, based on what we have learnt during the year. Sadly, the blackcurrant bush which predates my time at the school has got die back, so we will not be eating blackcurrants again. Nature club, do however have some money and could buy some bushes, should they so wish. Summer begins with elder blossom, ends with its berries and we have two bushes in our school grounds. We also learnt all about the magic, superstition and wildlife associated with our native elder, including what J.K. Rowling includes it in her Harry Potter stories!
