As we are taking part in the RSPB's British Bird Watch, we decided to make some fat balls for our birds. There was some Maths involved, which they all chipped in with. The balls had to contain a ratio of one part lard to 2 parts seed. There was 250g of lard. Eva was reluctant to handle the lard at first, but she ended up creating two balls! They also upcycled a piece of wood and rope into a feeding platform, but we ran out of time, so they can choose a site to hang the fat balls from tomorrow. The RSPB bird watch takes place for one hour between 26th and 28th January. All the free resources to record what you see are on the RSPB website and even if you see nothing, that fact is vital.
