January Newsletter

Dear Parents and Carers,
Coming back after Christmas already feels like a long time ago, as does the snow that treated us in early January. School life has been very busy, with new topics being introduced across the school. Staff and children have also been spending time focusing on our Foxton Way and the five routines that underpin this, which continue to support positive learning behaviours throughout the school.
We were happy to receive photos of our recent donations being loaded into a container before being shipped to the Hargeisa Orphanage Centre in Somaliland. We are really looking forward to seeing everything put to good use in the coming weeks.
Thank you to everyone who attended Parents’ Evening appointments and who also supported our recent Book Fair. Thanks to your generosity, we raised an additional £200 for the school library through book purchases.
Despite the cold weather, Year 3 and 4 have begun a series of regular Forest School workshops, which started with an adventurous barefoot walk! Year 5 and 6 have also started some initial Lion King rehearsals on Friday afternoons with me, and are very excited about their upcoming trip to London later this term to see the production.
We have two lovely class assemblies to look forward to in February from Fox Cubs and Badgers, as well as half-term, which is fast approaching. Please also keep an eye out for the Creation Station holiday club taking place at school over the half-term break.
