Dear Parents and Carers,
As we move further into the summer term, it has been lovely to see the school so full of excitement and achievement. We have already had many memorable moments this half term, and I wanted to take the opportunity to celebrate some of them with you.
One of the highlights was undoubtedly our Colour Dash in support of the LCH Charity. Once again, the event was full of energy, and we took some fantastic photos that captured the afternoon perfectly. The bubble machines added to the atmosphere and, on a personal note, I thoroughly enjoyed soaking everybody with the hosepipe as they made their way around the course! Most importantly, we were proud to support such an important local charity while creating lasting memories for the children.
We also enjoyed celebrating Life on Land Day, which linked well with our Global Goals curriculum and the centenary of Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday. Children across the school took part in activities exploring biodiversity, conservation and the importance of protecting our natural world. It has been incredibly inspiring to see the school’s passion for, and understanding of, environmental issues develop over the last few years. Since launching the programme in 2023, we have now had almost 60 children achieve their Global Goals badge. We are incredibly proud of all of our Goalkeepers, past and present, who have taken action to support one or more of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
I also want to say a huge well done to our Year 6 children, who have just completed SATs Week. As I posted on Facebook, we are incredibly proud of the calm, mature and confident way they approached each test. Their hard work and preparation truly paid off, and they gave every challenge their very best effort. Thank you as well to families for your support throughout the process; we look forward to receiving the results on the last day of term!
Yesterday afternoon, despite the ominous weather, our Maypole celebration was another real highlight. Every year group performed beautifully and showcased an impressive range of increasingly complex dances. The children’s confidence, teamwork and enjoyment shone through, as they always do, and it was lovely to welcome families into school to share the occasion with us.
Looking ahead, we have another busy and exciting few weeks planned.
